Parkinson’s Meds

The go to med for PD is Carbidopa/levadopa. It helps with the symptoms. In between doses are your "off times". My "off times" have never been that bad. I started to look at my symptoms since being on CL four times a day.

In the last year, my depression and anxiety have increased as well as my fatigue. The rigidity of my muscles has stayed pretty much the same. I got to thinking about the depression getting worse even though I'm on the max dosage of anti depressants.

Could this be a side effect of the CL?

Depression is most definitely a symptom of PD as well as the depression that comes from having a progressive neurological disease. But why is it worse?

A week ago I decided to titrate myself off the CL. I am now on one pill a day in the morning. It may be too soon to tell but my depression is better and I have more energy in the afternoons. Only time will tell if these were actually side affects from the levadopa.

I'll keep you posted...
