When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, I prefer to view them as goals. These goals might be achievable but can also be only partially realized—and that's perfectly fine. A long time ago, I came across the quote, “progress, not perfection,” and it has resonated with me ever since. I don't strive for perfection; instead, I focus on making improvements, which means I can successfully meet my resolutions.
This year, some of my New Year’s goals include:
- Increasing my exercise from 300 minutes per week to 500 minutes
- Doubling my reading from five books a year to ten
- Transitioning from occasional guitar practice to playing four days a week
These goals are realistic, even if I only achieve them partially. I remind myself that perfection isn't the goal. I’m looking forward to 2025 being a year dedicated to my personal growth.
